About
At Shared Pencil, our mission is to bridge the gap in educational resources and provide equitable access to quality education for students in underserved communities. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and thrive, regardless of their circumstances or geographical location.
Our journey began when our founder heard about schools where multiple students had to share a single pencil due to a lack of supplies. Inspired by the profound impact a simple pencil can have on a child's education, we are dedicated to collecting unused, surplus, and donated school supplies from generous schools in the United States, starting with the Bellevue, WA area. These supplies, including notebooks, pencils, and crayons, become the catalysts for change in schools across Cebu and Bohol, Philippines.
By fostering partnerships with schools and educators, we aim to empower students by equipping them with the essential tools they need to succeed academically. At Shared Pencil, we envision a world where every child has an equal chance to learn, grow, and create. We believe that education is a fundamental right that should never be limited by circumstances beyond one's control. By channeling the surplus resources from privileged communities to those in need, we promote inclusivity, break down barriers, and foster a sense of global unity.
We seek to make a lasting impact on the lives of young learners. Join us as we continue to inscribe a brighter future, stroke by stroke, page by page, pencil by shared pencil.Â
